If you’ve been looking to buy a smart home device, Amazon Prime Day is the last big sale until Black Friday.
Starting at midnight on Monday, July 15, Amazon Prime members can enjoy more than a million deals over a period of 48 hours. In fact, there will be new deals as often as every five minutes, according to a press release from Amazon. That’s a lot of deals!
In order to save you some time, we went through the list for you. Here are our favorite Prime Day deals on smart home devices this year:
Amazon Echo (2nd Generation) – $50 off
The first thing every smart home should have is a smart speaker. The Echo comes with Alexa, a virtual assistant that can turn on your smart TV and turn off your smart lights when you give it simple voice commands.
And since the Echo is so popular, there are hundreds of compatible smart devices that you can add to your smart home. The more devices you have, the more Alexa can do for you.
Out of the box, the Echo lets you stream your favorite music, make free calls, set alarms, and get answers to almost any question you can think of. Right now, Alexa has more than 50,000 skills (which are sort of like voice-controlled apps), and new ones are being added all the time.
Now, you can get the 2nd generation Echo with Alexa on Prime Day for just $50.
Portal from Facebook with Alexa Built-in – $120 off
The Portal from Facebook is a smart camera perfect for making video calls. The camera can recognize people and follow them around, so you can move around freely without leaving the frame.
When you’re not on a video call, you can use the screen to show photos like a digital picture frame or to watch YouTube videos. With Alexa built-in, you can access the same skills that the Echo offers and use The Portal to control other smart devices with voice commands.
And at just $79, you won’t see the Portal available this cheaply for a long time.
Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote – $25 off
If you don’t want to pay for a smart TV, you can just buy the Fire TV Stick. This little device allows you to turn a regular TV into a smart TV. As long as your TV has an HDMI port, you can start streaming videos from YouTube, Netflix, and much more.
This streaming stick also comes with an Alexa-enabled remote, so you can use your voice to find your favorite show or change the channel. There are thousands of apps, channels and Alexa skills that you can download to your Fire Stick. Plus, Prime members get hundreds of channels like HBO, STARZ, SHOWTIME, and more for free.
Since the Fire Stick is portable, you can take it with you on vacation and watch your favorite shows in any hotel that has a Wi-Fi connection.
And for just $14.99 on Prime Day, what have you got to lose?
Select Sony LED Smart TVs – 50% off
If you are in the market for a smart TV, Prime Day has some amazing deals on Sony LED smart TVs. Specifically, Amazon says that you can “save big” on the Samsung QLED 65″ TV, which normally comes with a hefty price tag.
But there’s a reason this smart TV usually costs more than $2,000. This 4K smart TV can display over a billion shades of color, and it has a quantum processor that upscales videos to look as good as possible. It also has a smart remote that allows you to control your TV with voice commands.
Ring Video Doorbell – $30 off
Knock, knock. Who’s there?
Now you’ll never have to guess who’s at your front door again. With the Ring Video Doorbell, you’ll get real-time notifications every time a visitor rings your doorbell or sets of the built-in motion detector.
Once you get a notification, you can video chat with guests from your smartphone or another device. With a basic Ring Protection plan, your doorbell will also automatically record videos and store them in the cloud for 60 days.
This smart doorbell works also with Alexa, so your Echo devices will light up and announce your visitors. If you have an Echo device with a screen, you can tell Alexa to show you the front door camera.
And at just $69.99 on Prime Day, peace of mind has never been so inexpensive.
eero WiFi systems – up to $200 off
The most important part of a smart home is your Wi-Fi connection. If you have a weak Wi-Fi signal, your smart devices will not work as well. That’s where the eero Wi-Fi system comes in. Together, these devices replace your old router with a wireless mesh network.
The eero Pro plugs into your modem like a traditional router, while the eero Beacon plugs into an outlet to add 1,000 square feet of Wi-Fi coverage. The system also comes with an easy way to turn off the internet or set schedules so your kids won’t be on the internet all day.
Other Connected Home Devices – 30% off
Didn’t see anything you wanted on this list? There’s still a chance that the smart home device on your wish list is also on sale. Amazon claims that there will be 30% savings on lots of smart home devices, including the Lutron Smart Dimmer Starter Kit, the Furbo Dog Camera to keep an eye on your pets, and iRobot Roomba robotic vacuums.
