Here are a few ways to keep your Facebook app from draining&nbsp; your phone&#8217;s battery too much:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-turn-autoplay-off\">Turn Autoplay Off <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The autoplay feature on the Facebook app not only drains your battery, it eats your data whenever you scroll through your newsfeed. Set the latter to \u201cNever\u201d.<\/li><li>Next, turn <strong>Background App Refresh<\/strong> OFF completely.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Android<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> then proceed to the <strong>Connections<\/strong> section.<\/li><li>Toggle <strong>Location<\/strong> off.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: This turns off the location services for every app.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To keep the&nbsp;Facebook app from running in the background of your Android phone, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Navigate to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Applications<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Application manager<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Tap on the Facebook app, then tap the \u201cForce Stop\u201d button.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-manage-inter-app-permission-for-facebook-ios\">Manage Inter-app Permission for Facebook (iOS) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re someone who plays mobile games or has apps that require your&nbsp;Facebook credentials to log in, you may be virtually permitting the Facebook app to operate under the radar. There are apps that ping Facebook to verify or complete actions based on inter-app permissions and you can manage these applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To confirm, go to your iPhone\u2019s <strong>Settings<\/strong> and select Facebook to see all the apps you\u2019re allowing to use your Facebook account. From there, launch the&nbsp;Facebook app and do the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Scroll all the way down until you find <strong>More<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Choose <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Account Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Apps<\/strong>.<\/li><li>From there, you\u2019ll see what apps are logged in with your Facebook credentials. Afterward, tap an app whose permission you wish to remove.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-turn-facebook-notifications-off\">Turn Facebook Notifications Off <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in mind that your battery takes a hit whenever a Facebook notification lights up your iPhone\/iPad screen. Turning off notifications&nbsp;also allows the app to run less often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edit the Facebook app\u2019s notification settings like you would for any other iOS app. Launch the <strong>Settings<\/strong> app then go to <strong>Notifications<\/strong>.
