OnePlus just entered the wearable market after unveiling<\/a> its first smartwatch. The OnePlus Watch comes packed with enough features to compete with the Apple Watch, but at a much lower price. Plus, you won\u2019t have to charge this smartwatch every night because of its amazing battery life. Here\u2019s everything you need to know about the OnePlus Watch, including the best new features, the price, release date, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OnePlus Watch Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Taking inspiration from more traditional watches, OnePlus designed its first smartwatch with a circular display. But the OnePlus Watch looks even more stylish with its curved AMOLED screen that has 326 pixels per inch, which means it will look almost the same as newer Apple Watch models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The OnePlus Watch has a sleek stainless-steel case that is hand polished. While you can also get the Apple Watch Series 6 with a stainless-steel frame, it has a starting cost of $700. However, the OnePlus Watch only has two buttons on the side, so you won\u2019t get the convenience of the Apple Watch\u2019s digital crown to navigate the screen.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specs and Features<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

OnePlus says its new smartwatch is \u201cloaded with sensors,\u201d including an optical heart rate sensor, a blood oxygen sensor, an acceleration sensor, a gyroscope, GPS, and more. All of these sensors are designed to work together to help you track your health and stay on top of your fitness goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are over 100 workout modes that help you track everything from the distance you run to the calories you burn swimming. You can also check your health stats on your smartphone using the OnePlus Health app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike most smartwatches, the OnePlus Watch comes with 4 GB of internal storage, so you don\u2019t have to carry your phone with you when you go on a run. The company claims you can load 500 songs onto this smartwatch and listen to them any time with a pair of wireless headphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the Apple Watch doesn\u2019t have internal storage, you can sync your music<\/a> to the device and stream it without your iPhone, as long as you have an Apple Music subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to tracking your health and fitness, the OnePlus Watch also connects to your smartphone and lets you answer phone calls, check text messages, and view any notifications you get. However, this smartwatch only works with Android phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above, so you can\u2019t pair it with your iPhone or other Apple devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, the OnePlus Watch won\u2019t use Wear OS, so it won\u2019t have as wide of an app selection as other Android-based smartphones. Instead, you will be limited to the proprietary apps and watch faces that OnePlus releases. But, the company says there will be over 50 smartwatch faces to choose from at launch, and you can make your own photos to use as watch faces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OnePlus Watch Battery Life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Arguably the best feature of the OnePlus Watch is its amazing battery life. The company claims that you can get up to two weeks of use on a single charge. If you\u2019re a heavy user you might have to charge this smartwatch once a week, but all you have to do is charge it for 20 minutes, and you can supposedly use it for another seven days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In comparison, the Apple Watch\u2019s battery only lasts a maximum of 18 hours before you have to charge it again. Then it takes two and a half hours to fully charge the Apple Watch with the Magnetic Charging Cable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its long battery life, you can actually wear the OnePlus Watch to bed.  This smartwatch can track your sleep patterns and provide you with a detailed report about how well you slept. Waterproof<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With an IP68 water- and dust-resistance rating, the OnePlus Watch can withstand being submerged in up to five feet of water for up to half an hour. Plus, this smartwatch is rated 5ATM, which means it is water-resistant to up to 50 meters in depth for 10 minutes. So, you won\u2019t have to worry about damaging this smartwatch, even if you wear it while swimming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OnePlus Smartwatch Price and Release Date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The OnePlus Watch will be available to purchase on April 14. The smartwatch will have a starting price of $159, and it will come in two colors:  moonlight silver and midnight black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company also announced it will soon be releasing a limited-edition smartwatch with a cobalt-alloy frame that\u2019s twice as strong as stainless steel. It will also have sapphire glass, which the company says is \u201cvirtually uncatchable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The OnePlus Watch works with any standard-sized band, so you don\u2019t have to buy an expensive proprietary band from the company. Apple currently sells bands for its smartwatch for anywhere between $50 to over $500, so you can save a lot of money buying your own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
