Such feature is often hidden inside menus of many browsers, and you must launch your browser normally before you can enable it. To avoid such hassle, you can force your browser to always run in private browsing mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-microsoft-internet-explorer\">Microsoft Internet Explorer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c1 wp-block-paragraph\">In Windows 7 or 8, find the shortcut you always use to launch Internet Explorer (or create one), right-click it and select <span class=\"c0\">Properties<\/span>. (If you use the taskbar icon to launch the browser, right-click the icon, right-click Internet Explorer in the jump list, and then select Properties.) Go to the <span class=\"c0\">Shortcut<\/span>&nbsp;tab and add <span class=\"c0\">-private<\/span>&nbsp;to the end of the <span class=\"c0\">Target<\/span>&nbsp;text field entry, separated by a single space. Click <span class=\"c0\">OK<\/span>. Every time you launch Internet Explorer using that shortcut, InPrivate Browsing is automatically enabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-google-chrome\">Google Chrome<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c1 wp-block-paragraph\">Follow the instructions above on how you make Internet Explorer force-start in private browsing mode. But instead of adding -private, add <span class=\"c0\">-incognito<\/span>&nbsp;instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mozilla-firefox\">Mozilla Firefox<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c1 wp-block-paragraph\">Open the browser&#8217;s menu, select <span class=\"c0\">Options<\/span>&nbsp;and go to the <span class=\"c0\">Privacy<\/span>&nbsp;tab. Under the <span class=\"c0\">History<\/span>&nbsp;section, click the drop-down list, select <span class=\"c0\">Never remember history<\/span>&nbsp;and click <span class=\"c0\">OK <\/span>to restart Firefox. At this point, Firefox uses the same settings as private browsing in all your browsing sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-apple-safari\">Apple Safari<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c1 wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s no easy way to launch Safari with private browsing enabled by default. But you can easily open a private browsing window in Safari by using its keyboard shortcut, <span class=\"c0\">Command<\/span>+<span class=\"c0\">Shift<\/span>+<span class=\"c0\">N<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c1 wp-block-paragraph\"><a name=\"h.gjdgxs\"><\/a>Protecting your privacy through privacy mode has its drawbacks. Because your browser doesn&#8217;t keep track of your cookies and other data when it&#8217;s in permanent privacy mode, you must log in to your online accounts every time you open a new browsing session.
