This failing thermal management causes electronic devices to become unreliable and undergo premature failure. To avoid this predicament, use these temperature-monitoring applications and determine if you have overheating problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-windows\">Windows<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c2\">There are several utilities for Windows that can check the temperatures of several computer components. One popular hardware-monitoring program is <span class=\"c0\"><a class=\"c1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alcpu.com\/CoreTemp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Core Temp<\/a><\/span>, which displays the vital temperature information of each core in a processor and supports a variety of x86 processors by Intel, AMD and VIA. <span class=\"c0\"><a class=\"c1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/openhardwaremonitor.org\/&amp;sa=D&amp;usg=AFQjCNEYAzf3Ehtejy97k0OPAmoBxhS-5Q\">Open Hardware Monitor<\/a><\/span>&nbsp;and <span class=\"c0\"><a class=\"c1\" href=\"http:\/\/rainmeter.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RainMeter<\/a><\/span>&nbsp;are also excellent tools. They not only read temperature sensors but also report other statistics, such as CPU load, network throughput and disk usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mac\">Mac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c2\">Some avid fans like to think that Mac computers don&#8217;t suffer from overheating. Sadly, they do. To keep track of your Mac&#8217;s temperature (CPU, battery, etc.), the aptly named <span class=\"c0\"><a class=\"c1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bresink.com\/osx\/TemperatureMonitor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Temperature Monitor<\/a><\/span>&nbsp;can display such information in the menu bar. For more recent Mac hardware, <span class=\"c0\"><a class=\"c1\" href=\"http:\/\/bjango.com\/mac\/istatmenus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iStat Menus 5<\/a><\/span>&nbsp;is a great system monitor with detailed graphs and clean interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ios-android\">iOS, Android<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c2\">Android has apps that essentially do the same hardware monitoring functionality that full-featured applications in full-fledged computers have. The Android version of <span class=\"c0\"><a class=\"c1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cpuid.com\/softwares\/cpu-z.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CPU-Z<\/a><\/span>, for example, is a capable tool for displaying temperature, system and battery information. As of this writing, there doesn&#8217;t seem to be any similar apps for iOS, but Apple <span class=\"c0\"><a class=\"c1\" href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT201678\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has a detailed guideline<\/a><\/span>&nbsp;on how to keep iOS devices within acceptable operating temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c2\"><a name=\"h.gjdgxs\"><\/a>Even without temperature-monitoring software, it&#8217;s easy to detect overheating electronic devices. For one, devices with active cooling become noisy due to their cooling fans. Your smartphone is most likely overheating if it feels like burning a hole in your pocket. Sporadic, unexpected reboots is another sign.
