The Google Pixel 4 and Everything Announced at the Made by Google event

Google announced the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL at the Made by Google event in New York City, and we are here to give you the lowdown on the specs, price, and release date. Do the new Pixel 4 phones live up to the hype? Will they take back their “best phone camera” badge from the newly released iPhone 11 phones? Here’s everything you need to know about the Pixel 4 phone, and the other announcements that Google made.

Pixel 4 Specs

The Pixel 4 and 4 XL will be available in three colors: white, black, and orange. The orange is slated to be a limited edition, and it is a top choice for those who like to carry unique accessories.

The Pixel 4 and 4 XL will be available in three colors: white, black, and orange. The orange is slated to be a limited edition, and it is a top choice for those who like to carry unique accessories.
In terms of screen size and features, both phones come with a 90Hz display. This means that scrolling on either mobile phone will be smooth and responsive. The Pixel 4 has a 5.7-inch screen with 1080p resolution, while the Pixel 4 XL has a 6.3-inch Quad HD display.

New Sensors

At the top of the screen, there are two new sensors. One is for Face Unlock, and the other is the Motion Sense. Face Unlock is similar to Apple’s Face ID. On the other hand, Motion Sense gives you a new way to interact and use your smartphone. With this feature enabled, you can control the phone using hand gestures without actually touching its screen.

You can skip a song, turn off an alarm, or dismiss calls with a simple wave of your hand. This is made possible by the addition of the Soli radar chip at the top of the phones.

What Kind of Camera Does the Pixel 4 Have?

The Pixel 4 has a square camera that is similar to the camera on the Apple iPhone 11. The primary camera is 12.2 MP (megapixels), while the telephoto one is 16 MP. The addition of the telephoto lens improves the portrait mode of the smartphones.

As for the camera’s other features, the Pixel 4 promises great photography in low light, long exposure astrophotography for capturing stars in the night sky, and a real-time preview of photos you take with HDR processing.

It also has an 8MP selfie camera. Its rear and front video cameras are both 1080p.

The Google Pixel 4 will also feature Live Caption, which gives you real-time captions for any video, podcast, audio message, or live video that you record on your phone. You won’t even need to use Wi-Fi or your data to enable this feature.

Other Features

Under the hood, both phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor. Both models come with 64GB or 128GB storage options, and they both have 6GB of RAM. It will also come with the new Google Assistant, fast charging via USB-C, stereo speakers with noise suppression, and dust and water protection.

The Pixel 4 does not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, by the way. You can use the USB-C port to listen to your favorite songs by using a dongle, or you can use wireless headphones. And no, you will not get wireless headphones or earbuds with your purchase.

Pixel 4 Release Date

You can pre-order the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL starting today. However, the Pixel 4 release date won’t be until October 24. Both smartphones will be available from all major carriers in the US.

Google Pixel 4 Price

The Pixel 4 starts at a price of $799, while the Pixel 4 XL starts at $899. However, the final price will depend on how much storage you want.

Other Made by Google Products Coming Soon

While the Pixel 4 was the biggest star of the Made by Google event, Google’s other upcoming products deserve some attention as well.

Google Nest WiFi

In the smart home department, Google has combined its WiFi mesh router with its Home speakers to bring us Nest WiFi. Google claims that two of these router-speaker hybrid devices will deliver coverage for a 3,800-square-foot home. You can get these 2-in-1 devices in three colors, snow, sand, and mist.

Google Home Mini

The Google Home Mini is now small enough to be mounted on a wall. It has also been reconfigured to have twice as much bass, a new machine learning chip, and more microphones. The latter means that the Nest WiFi will work better in loud spaces.

You can pre-order the Google Home Mini starting at $49. It will begin shipping out on the 22nd of October.

Pixelbook Go

Google also announced a new laptop called the Pixelbook Go. This high-end Chromebook, weighing around two pounds, comes with 16GB of RAM and a solid-state drive with up to 256GB of storage. You can pre-order the Google Pixelbook now for a starting price of $649.

Pixel Buds
