How to Connect Roku to WiFi (Without a Remote)

If your remote isn’t working, you can use the Roku app to connect your device to WiFi. In the Roku app, go to Devices and choose your Roku device. Then select Remote and use your smartphone to go to Settings > Network > Set up connection. Finally, choose your network and enter your password to connect your Roku device.

Note: Your Roku device will remember the last WiFi network it was connected to. So, you’ll need to connect your smartphone to that same WiFi network in order for these steps to work. If you are not at the same location where your Roku was last connected, you’ll also need to change the WiFi network name and password in your router. Only when all your devices are using the same WiFi name and password will you be able to connect Roku to WiFi with these steps.

You’ll need to set up a WiFi network on your router that shares the same name and password as the last WiFi network your Roku device connected to. If you don’t know this information, you might be able to reset your Roku device and set it up from scratch.
